Identifying crabgrass

Crabgrass is a warm-season annual that is gets its name because it grows low to the ground with stems that radiate out from the center of the grass clump, resembling crab legs. Once crabgrass invades a lawn it can be extremely difficult to eradicate due to the fact that each weed can produce up to 150,000 seeds to spread. The weed itself will die at the end of the growing season the seeds, however, stay behind, ready to germinate the following spring and start the cycle all over again.
