Identifying creeping charlie or ground ivy
Creeping charlie is a vine type weed often called ground ivy due to its appearance and growth habits close to the ground. The weed itself is a green vine whose leaves are round with scalloped edges that will bloom small purple flowers. If left unattended the weed will form a mat-like ground cover.
Creeping Charlie is very invasive and hard to kill due to the variety of ways it can spread. It advances by producing seeds and by nodes in the vines that sprout and grow when coming into contact with soil.
